Chocolate chip cookie cake

Chocolate chip cookies are one of the world's most favorite snacks. Everybody eats them as they are growing up and when they are adults they will make chocolate chip cookies for their kids. Another favorite snack food item is the chocolate chip cookie cake. After all, people love cake and people love chocolate chip cookies, why not combine the two into one fantastic food?

Here are a couple of different chocolate chip cookie cake recipes we found on the internet:

This is a recipe for a giant chocolate chip cookie cake
One cup of butter
One half of a cup of sugar
Two thirds of a cup of brown sugar (packed)
Two large eggs
One teaspoon of vanilla flavoring or vanilla extract
Two cups and four tablespoons of white flour (all purpose flour will work fine)
One teaspoon of salt
One teaspoon of baking soda
Two teaspoons of cream of tartar
Chocolate chips (as much as you want, but two cups' worth is a good place to start)
One cup of chopped nuts (these are optional)

Preheat the oven to three hundred and fifty degrees. In a large bowl beat together the butter and both kinds of sugar. You will want to beat them together until you get a fluffy and light mixture. Next, to this mixture, add the vanilla and the eggs and mix thoroughly. After this, you will want to mix all of the rest of the ingredients together (except for the chocolate chips and the nuts) in another bowl. Once those have been combined, mix your two bowls of ingredients together. The last things to get added to the dough are the chocolate chips and the nuts. Spread this dough out onto a pizza pan that is fifteen and a half inches and bake for twenty minutes. If you want, you can decorate this chocolate chip cookie cake when you are done!

Another way to make a chocolate chip cookie cake is to locate a recipe for big or giant chocolate chip cookies. You can stack them together with cream cheese frosting spread between the cookie "layers." To make this a chocolate chip cookie cake a very decadent treat, you will need five of these chocolate chip cookie "layers."

Here is the recipe for the cream cheese frosting:

In a big mixing bowl (any type of bowl will do as long as it is large), you will need to beat together forty ounces of softened cream cheese and a half a cup of confectioners' sugar.

Spread the frosting over the top of four of the five giant chocolate chip cookies. The next step is to stack the cookies on top of each other, leaving the one chocolate chip cookie that is unfrosted for the top layer. After all of the cookies have been stacked together, put the chocolate chip cookie cake into the refrigerator. The cream cheese frosting will need between twenty and thirty minutes to settle in. This cake tastes best when served to people at room temperature.

Tip #1

You can save cookie making time by mixing your ingredients while your oven preheats. That way your dough can go right into the oven when you finish mixing your ingredients. You can also save time by cleaning up as you go along. Rinse off the measuring spoons and the bowls as you finish using them. Wash the rest of the dishes as the cookies are baking and cooling.

Tip #2

Shortening is one of the single worst things you can put into your body. If a recipe calls for shortening you should substitute butter or margarine for it. Butter and margarine can be used interchangeably unless a recipe specifically says to use one or the others. Don't worry about the calories and talk yourself into using low calorie or whipped butter. These substitutes will ruin the taste of the cookies.

Tip #3

Rotate your cookie sheets. Cookies form best on ungreased and cooled cookie sheets. After you transfer cookies from the sheet to the cooling rack, you should rinse off the used sheet and get it prepped for another batch of cookies. Using a warmed sheet can overcook the cookies.
