Chocolate chip cookies are a staple of childhood for most children and people will spend copious amounts of time looking for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe to recreate the taste sensations they experienced as kids. Unfortunately, store bought cookies just are not the same thing.
If you are one such chocolate chip cookie fiend and are looking for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, look no further. Here is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe we have found. It makes a large plateful of cookies and it is highly likely that you will have to make a second batch; after tasting the cookies made by this recipe, you will lose the urge to share your cookies with others.
Here are the ingredients you will need for what we think is The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe (capitals ours to emphasize this recipe's greatness):
Two and one fourths cups all purpose flour
One teaspoon of baking soda
One teaspoon of salt
One cup (or two sticks) of softened unsalted butter
Thee fourths of a cup of sugar-granulated
Three fourths of a cup of brown sugar-packed
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
Two large eggs
Two cups or twelve ounces of chocolate chips (type of chips is up to you, we like the milk chocolate chips best)
One cup chopped nuts (optional)
Here are the steps to follow:
1. Preheat your oven to three hundred and seventy five degrees Fahrenheit.
2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, the baking soda and the salt and then set the small bowl aside.
3. In a larger bowl, mix or beat together most of the rest of the ingredients: the softened butter (giving them a quick zap in the microwave helps to speed along the softening process), the brown sugar, the granulated sugar, and the vanilla extract. You will want to beat these ingredients together until they have formed a creamy mixture.
4. Once the mixture is smooth and creamy, add the eggs in. Beat each of the two eggs in separately.
5. While beating the "wet" ingredients together, slowly add your flour/baking soda/salt mixture until it forms a soft but firm dough. This process is made much easier if you have an electric mixer.
6. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if you decide to add nuts).
7. Using a teaspoon for measurement, drop rounded dough on to an ungreased cookie sheet. Drops should be a couple of inches apart.
8. Bake the cookies for nine to eleven minutes, depending on your oven.
9. Once the baking is done, let the cookies cool on racks for ten to fifteen minutes before transferring them to a plate.
10. Eat cookies
11. Enjoy cookies
Repeat the process until satisfied.
Chocolate chip cookies are far better tasting when they are made from scratch. Cookies from a bag just are not the same. This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe that we could find and we hope you enjoy it!
Tip #1
You can save cookie making time by mixing your ingredients while your oven preheats. That way your dough can go right into the oven when you finish mixing your ingredients. You can also save time by cleaning up as you go along. Rinse off the measuring spoons and the bowls as you finish using them. Wash the rest of the dishes as the cookies are baking and cooling. |
Tip #2
Shortening is one of the single worst things you can put into your body. If a recipe calls for shortening you should substitute butter or margarine for it. Butter and margarine can be used interchangeably unless a recipe specifically says to use one or the others. Don't worry about the calories and talk yourself into using low calorie or whipped butter. These substitutes will ruin the taste of the cookies. |
Tip #3
Rotate your cookie sheets. Cookies form best on ungreased and cooled cookie sheets. After you transfer cookies from the sheet to the cooling rack, you should rinse off the used sheet and get it prepped for another batch of cookies. Using a warmed sheet can overcook the cookies. |
